Small
Groups Return to Bethany
October
19, 2008 – December 4, 2008
Sign
up for a group today and form a "new community" with others
seeking how to follow Jesus in this century!
We
are once again inviting each and every Bethany-ite sign up for a small
Bible study group – forming positive relationships and inspiring healthy
growth. Each group will study the fascinating and thought-provoking book
of First John. First John is a small book near the end of the Bible –
but it packs a powerful message of love, sin, grace, and the foundations
of our faith. Come to listen and contribute to the discussion, amidst a
caring community and relaxed atmosphere. Each person connected with
Bethany, along with anyone else interested (neighbours, co-workers, etc.)
are warmly invited to join one of small groups.
As
part of the program, we encourage everyone to:
-
read
through First John each week (an average of one chapter each week-day)
-
in
addition, most of the sermon themes each week will be taken from this
interesting book
The
groups meet in various homes, with a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of
10; and meet weekly from the week of October 19th to the week of November
30th.
Each
person in the group will be respected, everyone's contributions valued and
faith strengthened. We hope you can join the adventure?

2009
Offering Envelopes
If
you want to have a set of weekly offering envelopes for your church
donations, please speak to Jim LeRoy after the service or talk to Pastor
Jim. Offering envelopes help bring organization to your giving since each
envelop is dated with a different Sunday, as well as confidentiality to
your giving, because your name on the envelope is not necessary in order
for you to get credit for your donation for income tax purposes.
As you prepare to celebrate
the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Christmas also gives you us the
opportunity of showing our love and appreciation in a specific way to
those who are special in our lives. We, as a church community, have been
very blessed to have Pastor Jim and his family here at Bethany.
A
Christmas love offering will be collected on the Sunday services of
December 7, 14 and 21 as our way of showing them our love and appreciation
and given to them on our behalf as this year's Candlelight service on the
evening of December 24. There will be "Christmas box" available
at the end of each of these services in which to place your special gift
or can be given directly to Donald Griffiths.
