Pastor Jim Parker
Pastor Jim has given leadership to Bethany since 1996. Living just blocks from the church, Pastor Jim enjoys the people of Bethany and the community as a whole. His major responsibilities and giftedness include leadership, teaching, and encouragement. Conducts baby dedications, baptisms, funerals and weddings, as well as regular pastoral duties.
Pastor Jim also serves in various community roles:
- Founding and active Chairperson of East York Strategy, working to reduce crime and create good in our neighourhood. (www.eastyorkstrategy.com).
- Executive board member of Pape Village Business Improvement Area.
- Coordinator of Chess Clubs at William Burgess Public School and Westwood Middle School.
- Is married with three daughters.
- Enjoys sports, woodworking and reading.
- 2017 Agnus Macphail Award Recipient recognizing his many community contributions.
Carolyn Parker (Youth Worker)
Carolyn Parker is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a BScN. After moving to Toronto she spent a number of years as a stay at home mom.
Currently Carolyn organizes many children and youth programs in the community such as YOLO after school on Tuesdays, YOLO at night on Thursdays and BLAST youth group on Friday nights. Sasha Bult-Ito (Music Director)
Alaskan pianist Sasha Bult-Ito, has been soloist with orchestras in the U.S. and Europe, and has given over two dozen solo recitals. Sasha has performed in Koerner Hall as a finalist of the Glenn Gould School Concerto Competition, at Weill Recital Hall in New York with duo partner, violist Jacob Clewell, and was a semifinalist of the e-Piano Junior and Eastman Young Artists Competitions. She has performed for such distinguished artists as Leon Fleisher, Jon Nakamatsu, and Boris Slutsky, and attends international summer festivals regularly. Sasha began piano studies at age four with her mother and attended the Interlochen Arts Academy for high school. She is currently finishing her Bachelor’s Degree at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory, studying with John Perry and David Louie as a full-scholarship recipient.
Sasha has served Bethany since September, 2017, playing piano for us during services, leading our Choir, and coordinating our overall music ministry. We believe music is a gift from God, and is, therefore, very valued around Bethany. We are grateful for Sasha’s kind presence, talented playing, and capable leadership.
JP Patriquin (Caretaker)
JP has worked as our caretaker intermittently since 2015. JP’s attention to detail and hard working spirit make him a valuable part of our team.
